#99 is not the "stretched" Excalibur

#145 ("Shay Gold") is the one that was stretched 8 1/2 " for an amabassador in Africa.

Confirming how many were produced is difficult because of poor record keeping.

As noted, several earlier "VIN'ed" cars were re-assigned later VIN#'s, several VIN's in the logical sequence were skipped over, and some vehicles with assigned VIN's were never completed.

Based on my research, my best guess is 132.

Also. I do not own #003

I own the precursor to #200. My car was Excalibur's "R&D" Cobra which started its life with a 4.6L Lincoln engine and T45 5- spd trans. Soon after it was started, Excalibur acquired a 4.6L "Cobra" engine from Ford and went on to custom build #200. It is presently here in Wisconsin.

My car was sold unfinished to one of Excaliburs vendors. Never completed, it was sold again and then again unfinished I bought it.

I completely disassembled the car and built it my way. I installed a 351C and Tremec 5spd. Additionally, I resolved some of the known engineering and fiberglass issues and customized the dash.

When Exclaibur closed the doors for good, I was able to acquire the LAST Cobra as a "Components Only" transaction. Sadly I have not had time to complete this car.
