360 FE's were put into pickups until the later 70's. My 105 "mirror" block is a 1976 block from a Ford truck. It's got the heavier main webs and thick cylinder walls. Although I'll only go .030 overbore on it, it sonic checks good to a 428 bore if I wanted.
Also, there are plenty of FE service blocks out there with no date code at all - just a blank oval pad where the date code would normally be.
