Default Need Help Id'ing 428 intake

I am buying what I am pretty sure is a 66 428 PI with a c6 tranny but there are a couple of things that puzzle me.
First of all I don't think the valve covers have even been off this thing, they still have the old cork gaskets and little staples over the tabs like I remember on original fe's. This drive train has been in a 56 ford parklane since 1974 and not hooked up or started. It was stored inside and looks very original and unmolested.
The block casting is C6ME-A,the heads have NO visable numbers like an fe normally does. The intake is aluminum,4bbl and painted blue like the rest of the motor ,casting numbers are C6AE-9424-E.The air cleaner is a normal blue snouted one with a 428 4v original looking decal.
Here is what baffles me,it has painted pent roof style valve covers with a pvc valve.

AGAIN,this all looks like it has never been apart or molested. The story is this guys Dad bought the whole deal {motor/Tranny}from a salvage yard in 73 and never finished the car.
Anyone have any real info on what the intake is or what kind of 428 had pent roofs ?
thanks,Tk
