Ron,
I used a regular
oil cooler for many years and never had a problem. Are you sure that the transmission
oil cooler is standing up to the pressure of your engine
oil as it wasn't designed to be used for the thicker oil. Or at least that is what I was told. One of mine was bolted in solid and the other had rubber in the brackets.
