I think you will find the radius of the groove you have formed into the rotor is the main feature guarding against cracking.
In sectional profile a groove with any sharp corner will pose the greatest threat to cracking with the cracks starting from the sharp corner.
The use of fillets to spread loads represents an extension of this load/stress issue.
