I got a chance to get out today for about 20 minutes and one exit on the LIE of spirited driving. I noticed that my water temp gauge did not move at all, which seemed strange. It was brisk out there, somewhere between 40 & 50 I would presume and everything else seemed in line gauge wise and overall perfomrance. I wonder if my coolant is low enough that a temp reading would not register or if the outside temp + the short nature of the drive just did not allow the engine coolant to get hot enough. I am thinking it is the first. I will have to pop the cap off and have a look.
