If advanced timing is the problem ???
If too much advance is the problem, I believe you can test for this by attempting to start the hot engine with the coil wire attached and then with the coil wire grounded (or ignition system shorted to ground properly). If the engine turns over much faster with coil wire grounded, then you likely have too much advance at engine crank RPM. The correction could be reduce the initial timing or check for stuck advance weights or vacuum advance modules (if installed).
