I wouldn't worry about a lawyer. Your understanding is correct. your insurance will cover it, then they will file suit against her insurance. I have a friend who just went through this about a year ago with his 68 camaro. Agreed value was 125k and the idiot who rearended him caused alot of damage. He filed through state farm which was who carried his policy. they cut him a check to get repairs started and then paid hte rest. State Farm then will get their money from in this case allstate. He was not out of pocket a dime. Except of course the loss of the original sheet metal on the car. Let the insurance companies duke it out.
