Wayne hit the nail on the head. You need to loosen both the bolts that hold the U bolt over the column and the set screws in the engine compartment that hold the column against the driver's footbox. Turn it around and retighten everything.
The only problem with this is that the lever gets very close to the dash on the drivers side. It's almost cumbersome when trying to grab the steering wheel. I believe that is one of the main reasons why BDR continues to leave it on the right side.
