It seems to me that his stubborn nature and the whole issue surrounding his defiance is what brought a lot of the other issues out of hiding.
Whether or not he had a sexual relationship with her when she was 15 seems to be conjecture, but one thing is certain....I bet he just wishes he'd admitted to it and been done with it. Now there's several different cans of worms he has to contend with.
