Terry... After polishing, do you need to finish it with anything to protect the finish?

I am just completing a Holly to EFI (Access) conversion, and I am planning to mount the throttle body vertical on the Jr. Vic Spyder (drilled for fuelly). This could make use of the hood vent, with the turkey pan.

Since this will not be a stock fitting, does anyone have suggestions on how to size/measure the clearance between the pan and hood? I am limited on space, as an Edelbrock RPM would not fit. I have heard plastercine (sp?) works.

Also, were can I source different size pans? The Finishline pan will be too tall.
