OK, sorry I couldn't get on CC earlier!

Now: FILLER/SPILL - LEMANSWELL 101;
First take the Well and fit it from underneath. The notch or extra lip on the well should line up with the inside corner of the trunk wall. It will find a "natural" spot to the fender when the notch lines up with the trunk. Take a crayon, magic marker, what ever and outline the edge on the inside of the fender. Grind the fiberglass where ever the well lines up, not a lot just clean it up a little, even 36 or 80 grit paper will work but I use a small grinding pad.

Take the well and drill a 5/8's to 1/2" hole dead center of the well. Grind all the edges down on the outside edges of the well. Again 36 or 80 grit or small grinding pad.

Take your drill with you and just place the well in place from underneath, using the center hole in the Well drill right straight up through the body using the 5/8' or 1/2" drill.

Find one of you threaded bumber rods, screw a regular nut to it about two inches up, insert this rod through the Well then with a large washer first put a nut on the bottom and tighten the two nuts up.

Have a small block of wood or something similiar, drill a hole through it big enough for the rod to go through. slide the block of wood over the shaft and install another weasher and a nut. Once you have this done, take the upper portion i.e.; block of wood, washer and nut off, leaving it handy.

There is a reason for all this!

Once the Well is ready with the bottom bolted tight, now get your body material mixed. Mix enough to get real sloppy around the top of the Well. Put the filler all around the edge, thick-now immediately push the rod up through the hole in the body with the Well now touching the inside of the fender. Push it up tight. Need a helper? Get one first.......OK the well is in place with the rod sticking through, add the block of wood a washer and a nut......Tighten it fairly tight making sure there is no gap between the Well and the fender. What you have done is to make a "sandwhich which will hold the Well in place without movement until the filler drys.

Take a few minutes rest while the filler gets totally hard.

Now very carefully cut out the fender to the inner edge of the Well, from the top of course.

You can now cut the center of the Well out (using the open Lemans Cap as a template.)

Now its time to fiinish it off! IF your gas cap hits the edge of the Well (To be a painted surface) add about a full 1/2" of filler to the entire bottom of the Well. Put it in as smooth as possible and if you have a 6" DA you can then just finish it off with that. Fill in the eges of the fender and the Well and get out the primer!

Now you should have a LeMans Gas Cap Well in place.

I'll be waiting for an update or questions!
