With my stroked tunnel port motor set up and thirsty demon carbs (1450 cfm total) I average about 10 mpg highway and 5 mpg in town. The 5 speed tremec helps, but driving style is certainly reflected in the fuel economy ...or lack thereof.
Let's see, downhill in a hurricane I bet I could get over 20 mpg!
Funny story:
My friend and I approached a red light two weeks ago and we pulled up next to a Toyota Prius. My buddy had the driver roll down his window so he could yell over to him..."The gas you're saving, we're using!" The guy behind the wheel was a good sport and said he was happy it was going to a good cause.
My brother in law drives a Hummer H2....the Prius owners aren't so forgiving...
