God, I HOPE so, but we don't have very long, and my fear is that even if we DO have alternatives (and according to this book, the ONLY one is to somehow make geothermal work to use in power stations...and THEN we can make as much hydrogen we like!!!!) my concern is not that I couldn't power my car on bioethanol or lighter fluid or recycled cooking
oil or some such, BUT the bigger problem of converting ALL worldwide,
oil-based INDUSTRIAL production to one of these 'alternatives'.
My one remaining hope is that FINALLY it appears that EVERYONE is now at least aware of the issues, and most are concerned about it. What will surely kill the initiatives (and eventually ALL OF US) is if this somehow becomes a political issue...then we are truly doomed. This needs to be done on behalf of the human race, not on behalf of the Democrats or the Republicans or The Green Party !!!
