OK class, time for some more history of Quincy. There will be a quiz, especially for anyone that thinks sliding around on ice while beating on people with a stick is a sport.
(Just kidding Tru)
I took this picture on the way home from yesterday's cruise night. It's about 3 miles from my house. The building in the background is the Souther Tide Mill. The mill, built in 1806 is the oldest surviving combination grist and saw mill in America. The rise and fall of the ocean tides powered the mill. Last year the city approved $100K to help preserve the building with the hope of creating a park with the mill as the centerpiece. It is currently fenced off with barbed wire on top
to keep vandals away.
