Just my $.02 here but I can't imagine that Superformance would purposely offer an option that would open them up to an increase in warranty liability due to paint failure. After all, we aren't talking about show quality finish that is perhaps 12-15 coats thick but rather an additional 2 coats of clear that might add a little more depth to the finish. I would guess that the only way you could tell the difference between the single clear and the double clear coat is to place the two cars next to each other. Personally, I could think of several other better ways to spend the $425. The stock Superformance finishes I have seen all looked great to me.
