They have excluded almost everything from being used to base the COLA on. Claim it should be based only on the things people have to have and they don't consider getting to work as a necessity. I believe the last one was just over 1% but am to lazy to go look it up. I do remember that the paper reported it had gone up over 3.6% or something like that right along side the COLA for Social Security. I just don't plan anything based on what they give for a COLA. Kind of like the unemployment had gone down because they quit counting anyone that wasn't drawing unemployment.
