The 1 7/8 will be fine for what you are doing. You want to make sure they are not blocking the parts at the head opening. The next restriction will be the sidepipe muffler size. I have seen some of these as small as 1 1/2 and that really restricts the Hp as well. Thanks, Keith Craft
