we have done a fair few of the L76's and depending on the tacho you are using there have been many ways they have been fixed.Some of the ways they have been fixed is having the tuner change the output in the ECU of the tacho signal or running a tacho booster (we have 3 types and depending on the type of tacho makes the choice of which booster to run).

Reason for the booster is cause the signal coming out of the ECU is very minimal as the holden dash was designed to take such a weak signal and work with it.. Majority of after market tacho's although designed to recieve an ECU weak signal still require a booster of some sort.

You can even get boosters that run of the coil trigger wire instead of using the ECU signal.

Because of these problems it is one of our first comments to guys we supply harnesses for that they make sure that the instrument supplier is will to take back/swap the gauges if they are not suitable for these type of engines.
