Talked to Joe today, no-go on the passenger outlet. Since it's a rather limited application it's not really worth their time to write a new program for the CNC mill. I have to admit I think I've only seen one car this way myself...

If your not dead set on the tank there are 90deg outlets available with an inline fill cap. (would be cheaper) As long as the in-line cap is the highest point it should still be able to purge air with a recovery tank. (need to run one anyway)
