Everyone,
I am at home now. Thank you for all the prayers that I have benefitted from, they are working. There are hundreds whose names I will never know that have been praying for me.
As posted earlier, I had been scheduled for neck surgery on Tuesday. The doctor who was assigned to me said I needed it or I could become a quadraplegic. Other than this he did not share any details or images, but instead was arrogant and blunt. A friend recommended another doctor who happened to be on staff. He did not think surgery, and the associated risk, was the best option. The surgery would have fused vertabrae with screws and plates.
In any case I know how lucky I am. I am thankful that the US Marine Sargeant riding with me was almost unscathed. He went on a 200 mile motorcycle ride the next day. Those Marines are tough. He came to visit me for several hours in the hospital, and made a special point to tell me he would ride with me again any day.
Thank you to all who helped at the scene. For all of you who visited me, I appreciated seeing you......and there were many.
I have a ways to go still, so please continue to keep me (and Elaine, since she has to put up with me) in your prayers. In the near future, all my energy will be spent on recovery.
