David,
I would pursue normal rego first, you have done everything to comply and if you loose this window of opportunity you may have a mountain of problems to overcome.

The cobra community do not pretend that their car is a 65 model cobra, but are happy to say yes it is a replica.

That is the reason we will always be treated differently from the hot rodders. It is almost be slight of hand that a brand new 32 ford with a repro chassis and glass body is registered as being manufactured in 1932, hey they get away with it but it isn't right.

If you cannot get full rego, then look at club rego....well that is what I would do.
