Regarding this distributor issue, try putting a layer of di-electric grease around the entire edge of the distributor cap to seal and minimize the airflow, thus preventing additional moisture from getting inside the cap area at all. The MSD std. vent will allow ventilation inside the cap without a large flow of outside air...and moisture being trapped inside...air circulation is produced by the protruding veins on the rotor itself....no additional holes required.
