[Scufty]

So the car is running fine yesterday. I grab the wife to go for a cruise...runs fine ...then all of a sudden starts missing pretty bad. I can still drive it but like I said missing pretty bad ( like I was running on 6-7 cylinders instead of 8) at idle black smoke out of side pipes and smells rich. I have noticed the last few times out that after I shut it off it seemed to flood ...would have to put the peddle to the floor to get it to start again. Does this sound carb releted or something scary like a cam lobe gone south or something else....? Thoughts? I think I will try a new carb later today or tomorrow?
Certainly seems like the black smoke would indicate carb problem?
Would the car run that poorly with a carb issue?
