Go to your nearest muffler shop. Buy a set of their 4" case x 3" I.D. x 3 1/2" inlet/outlet x 24" long glasspak mufflers. Cut out your mufflers and TIG weld these in place. I just did it and the wife no longer jumps when I start up. Sound level now is reduced. When in 4th or 5th just cruisin' along it has a low, soft tone. When I get on it, the exhaust sounds like a Cobra should.
I like the new mufflers, I can sneak around town without breaking any glass on the car next to me at the light.
For a GOOD looking job, TIG weld, not MIG weld.
I used header flanges on the entrance to the new mufflers so that I can change at will.
