Tony, I agree....prices for originals seem high. But then again so are $125k-$200k 4000 series cars. All of it is nuts. I remember Cobras for $25-$35k back in the early 80's. They have always been great investments...but $25-$35k was a lot of money then...you could buy a decent home for that-even in CA. Over time they have kept up with overall inflation and then some. I remember what I was told when I was young-something is only worth what the next idiot is willing to pay. Sad but true. There have been several recent sales of restored 289 cars selling in the high $500k range (CSX2242 @ Mecum a few months back and now in Hemmings at $693K for sale) that have had damage history. So is an undamaged car put away for 35 years worth more??? Probably...
