I had run on ......my curb idle was 1200-1300 so I turned it down to 1050 and now it idle's fine and no run on.

I too had originally ordered the 402 sr/tw but changed my mind an I am not sorry.
However if you want fuel economy this is not the motor to go with as at best you are 14 mpg with the tremec 600 5 speed.
