Guys, my electric fan crapped out on the way into paddock area and temp was going up real fast. Sorry to bail out early but I was worried about traffic jams on our return and since we could not get fan working (thanks to all who tried to help) I packed it in and left around 1pm.
Made it without any major overheating. Every time traffic started bunching up it slowly started moving again. As long as I was moving at normal speed temp was around 170*..... in traffic the highest the highest was 185* when it got a little jammed up at Whitestone Bridge. Had to get off onto 25A and slowly worked my way back to Levittown as traffic was really bad on Cross Island. Got home around 4.20pm with no problems. I really lucked out with both traffic and no major overheating. Kind of like someone was looking out for me Bill C.
Checked fan when I got home jumping directly to a spare battery with jumper wires and the fan worked so my guess is either a bad relay or corroded wire connectors. Will add a roll of wire, spade connectors and a long pair of jumper wires to my tool bag.
Tom S.
