I avoid the 'ward each year. This isn't what cruising was. This is just an over sized, commercialized, too expensive car show.
Cruising
was tooling up and down Woodward for three reasons; race, deals and member of the opposite sex.
The cops threw you out of every parking lot between 8 mile and 15 mile as you parked and then ticketed you for everything they could think of while you were driving. But man, there were events!
Races for bigger money out on I75. And, there was the topend club out on I696.
Nothing like this dream cruise. This is just a display of cubic dollars.
