Hmm, I had some dealings with CR this past year (2007) and they weren't all sunshine. Based on a magazine article and some testimonies, I asked Don to build a Chevy for me, agreed on the price, was told 3-4 weeks and had the money deducted from my credit card which I paid on good faith. Then the tracks went cold, it took 3 + months for me to get my motor and trans shipped and I had to contact them several times to find out what the hold up was. I had to chase them, never any info offered unless I tried to get them, was told people would call back but then didn't then I had to call again. On the plus side though, I did get my motor and trans combination, it appears to be as ordered and it will turn over manually. (six months away from starting it now) They did offer to ship for free after the delay so they did that for me....however, I never got a sales receipt after asking them on more than one occasion and they never gave me any information re. what is inside the motor or what has been done to it. I do have a dyno sheet and that is it. So how could you register your car if no receipts? How about exporting your motor out of the country like I wanted to do? Did they help? Nada....to this day, they did not do anything to provide me with papers but they sure were quick to take my money. I'm still miffed about it.
I'm sorry the business is in dire straits, no one wants to see a good company go under and I do believe the company was a good one with an honest business model. Guess other things got in the way when I needed help. I hope that Don can re-group and survive and the next venture or adventure will be nothing but positive.
