Another good piece of saftey gear for open cockpit cars are arm restraints. They don't take much to get use to but you need to inform people in your group and track officials that you will be wearing them as hand signals are difficult. I witnessed the aftermath of this accident link below while I was waiting on the grid as the recker brought this car into the pits. Luckily the driver walked away and continued driving that day in another car. I purchased some $35.00 arm restraints right then...Sometime the SNELL rating is buried in the lining and if you don't know what to look for as it seems the clerk doesn't it can be missed. Mac
