for years on my car, i have had to turn the ignition on with a key, but have a red flip cover "momentary on" toggle switch put where my windshield washer pump button once was. Turn the key on, flip up the cover, hold the toggle up to crank the motor, let go, then flip down the cover. It was easy to wire, i ran the starter wire tht had gone straight to the starter solenoid thru the toggle, thence to the solenoid.
While one would think cranking a running engine in one of these cars would be unlikely, I had done it, but with the the toggle down, it prevents that occasionial mental lapse. Besides, it looks cool.
