Rick,
I'm in the process of experimenting with a couple of bilge tunnel fans, to exhaust hot air from the engine compartment while sitting in stop & go traffic. So far I've over heated them because they are plastic and all that hot air is a killer. I've since insulated them (inside with heat tape) and outside (with insulation. Now they're holding up ....who knows for how long?
Anyway, when I turn them on while sitting at a signal, with outside temp. about 115 degrees and engine temp. between 190 and 210 degrees, the fans instantly drop the engine temp. about 5 degrees.
I'm still in the test mode to see if the things actually are worthwhile and serve the intended porpose. If they turn out to be a good thing, I'll most likely build some with insulated alum. tubes and metal fans.
Anyway I'll try to post some pictures..

Sorry, I can't get the pictures to post.....must be doing something wrong. Bill

Bill
