John,
I agree with you. These were designed like this for a reason though. Maybe they were designed for racing.
I think I might draw up another set with the holes inline. I dont think that it needs 2 sets of holes to bolt the a-arm thru either.

DV, any thoughts on this. What about just using 1/2-13 tapped holes where the a-arms bolt up? Maybe countersunk holes where it bolts to the frame so you dont have to worry about clearing the head of that bolt when bolting up the a-arms. I will have to check if the 3/16 bottom plate is thick enough for the angled area on the flat head bolt. Might have to undercut the bolts for clearance.
