Okay I just returned from a lunch hour visit to the new Hurricane Motorsports facility in Arlington, Texas. Chris and his dad were both there, and Chris took me out to the shop. They were busily loading up all of the body molds, compressors and tools and are moving them to their body fabrication shop in Tyler, Texas today. All of the bodies will be popped at that location. Chris showed me all of the work that they have been doing on the molds to improve quality of the bodies. Their goal he stated is to be able to produce a uniform body and frame every time.
The Arlington shop will still be the primary sales office and frame assembly shop. Chris showed me the frame jig and a load of American steel they just received. He refuses to buy imported steel from China or anything local that has been melted down from scrap and recast.
The story with the 888 toll-free number is: The previous owners in Missouri still had the number and they were handling the forwarding to the local Texas line. Chris doesn’t know why it is not working, but he has been trying to reach them to get it straightened out. Their local number works as always. He has been on the road the past week all over the country and was out of cell phone service range most of the time.
And finally Chris said that he is hiring another welder, and some front office help to answer phones and such.
I see Chris made a post to this thread but I haven’t read it yet and I’m in a hurry so back to work for me!
So it looks to me like things are moving along at Hurricane.
