Thanks for two good tips. The pickup coil must be attached to the underside of the stationary ring(I'll look for two wires), and the module is clearly evident as 4 wires with 90 deg. spade connectors plug into it. I was worried that I might have pulled a wire loose while trying to pull the mag ring out.
The module appears to be rivetted in place with 2 hollow brass rivets. I wonder if ProComp sells spare modules and distributor rotors?
I checked it again last night by attaching a grounded spark plug directly to the high voltage wire from the coil to the distributor cap. If I got a spark here,
it would isolate the problem to the distributor cap.
I've got an MSD 6A in place, but it failed last fall and I had to pay MSD to fix it. So, I've got the wiring planed with a jumper wire or two to bypass the MSD if I have a no-spark situation again.
