I'm sure a guy who can't turn a wrench, or doesn't have the time to, could find someone to set a car up, install motor and trans, work out all bugs, and add some special touches. Going through all components including a new transmission, to make sure everything is within tolerances is not unheard of. Add to this, the cost of a serious 289 (I know of one place that get $20,000 for a 500 HP 289) I could see it adding up to $140K. It's not easy to set up a car perfectly, and it's very time consuming. Pay someone to do it for you, and it could very costly.
