BB would be a good alternative to an electric blanket, but what a hazard. If she rolls over, I'd suffocate.
Just did some more dishes last night. Thats my job. Washing dishes.
Time to convert to all paper and plastic. I just tired of washing dishes. I have a dishwasher machine, but by the time I fill it to a full load, I've run out of some clean items. Spaghetti and meatballs on a paper plate? Ugh.
Its noontime and the temperature is up to a balmy 47°F outside. At least the sun is shining and heating up the back porch. I turned on the fan downstairs and the temp went from 63 to 68 in about 30 minutes. Love that solar heat. I have not turned on the heat yet ... but its getting close.
Just gave turtle his last coat of varnish. Tru - I left his bottom alone this time. By the time the Humpin Ho sisters get here and see him, the shine on his shell will blind them ... although they must be at least partially blind now to be living with Fred and BB.
Ron - I do have
oil heat, but I've done a lot in the last 10 years to drastically reduce my heating bill ... like vinyl siding with 3/4 inch foam underneath, double pane windows with combo storm windows, 36 inches of insulation on attic floor, insulated the cellar ceiling, new heating system with two zones and a super insulated hot water tank.
Ten years ago, I used approx 900 gallons per year at about $0.90 a gallon which is about $800 a year. My average for the last two years has been about 500 gallons a year, but the costs have been about $1400 yearly with the increase in prices. Thankfully, the cost of crude has been on a free-fall lately, and that will keep the cost way down.
Steve - enjoy the good weather while you can. In a few short months it will be 100°F with 98% humidity and you can watch the little dials on your electric meter spin at 247 MPH as the AC is on full blast. By then, Joe should be on his third AC unit. Hey Joe - is dry ice an option?
