CSX2009 SHELBY AMERICAN/HOLMAN MOODY FACTORY TEAM CAR

"CSX2009, one of the first Shelby American/Holman Moody Factory Team cars. It was raced successfully from 1962-1971 at all the famous race tracks from Nassau in 1962, 12 Hours of Sebring in 1963, Bridgehampton, Elkhart Lake, Daytona, Lynndale Farms, Meadowdale, Mid-Ohio, Road Atlanta, Cumberland, Marlboro, Summitt Point, Watkins Glen, VIR, Thompson and many other raceways. Driven by Augie Pabst, Peter Jopp, Jocko Maggiacomo, Tom Payne, Bob Johnson, Ray Cuomo, Bob Beinerth, Warren Fairbanks, Gene Fisher, Dick Stockton and Bill Knauer. Northeastern BP champion from 1967-1970. Finished 2nd overall in BP at the Road Atlanta ARRC in 1970. CSX2009 was restored over a 10 year period from 1978-1988 to full Concourse standards and Competition prepared with an FIA body, rack and pinion conversion, webers and FIA wheels. CSX2009 won the Best of Show and the Popular Vote at SAAC 13 and also recently won the SAAC 32 Hi-Performance Best 289 Cobra class in Utah. "

I gather this car has had more than a few changes since it was new but my bet is someone will restore it exactly as it was back when it appeared at Nassau in '62. In spite of the bad economy, I also predict it will go for more than an equally well finished big block car with no racing history
