Default Some things never 'change'

Negative campaigning? Based on history the current discourse seems almost mild. Consider the Thomas Jefferson attacks:

Quote:
Adam’s party said that the election of Thomas Jefferson would cause “the teaching of murder, robbery, rape, adultery and incest” and on top of that Jefferson was the “son of a half-breed Indian squaw and sired by a Virginia mulatto father” and had robbed a widow of 10,000 pounds.
Not to mention all the talk about he's not a 'real' (now there's an interesting word) Christian, which may have been the basis for the above quote. The verbage continued, grew worse, Jefferson was elected and the sky didn't fall after all. America continued to grow and prosper, as it will following the current election.

Some claim Jefferson was actually a Muslim, after all, he DID own a Koran. Accusing a candidate of being Muslim; as Sienfield would say, "Not thats theres anything wrong with that". There is nothing new under the sun. And so it goes today, sound bites, bit's and pieces of quotes, pictures, all designed to mislead. The good news is, the American public are not nearly as stupid as many pundits and fear mongers would like to think. The sky is not falling, America will find a way and grow and prosper, no matter who gets elected.

An amended 'Godwins Law' should include: The inevitable use of the word socialism. Club Cobra, well on it's way to amending 'Godwins Law'!
