I had the same issue on my SPF glove box door. The way I found to take care of it is get a washer just a bit larger in diameter of the circumference of the lock set. Paint the washer back, un-do the lockset and place the washer betweem the lock and the box door on the front. When you re-assemble and tighten the lockset, the washer will push down and hide that imperfection. The washer will blend in with the color of the box cover and you will bearly see it. Trust me, that thing bothered me to and this looks MUCH better. Hope it helps.
