Ron,
I have noticed similar occurrences here. My wife and I were shopping the other day and we both noticed the shelves were not stocked very well with some items.
I asked one of the clerks as he happened by what's going on. He stated that many companies are starting to just deliver the food stuff and will no longer stock the shelves themselves. It seems there have not been 'stock boys' in grocery stores for awhile as the stores have made the vendors stock their own products on the shelves. They are now refusing to do that as the prices are so out of whack they are loosing money.
The vendors make the delivery personnel stock the shelves as part of their pay and they are the ones refusing to do it.
He said there are also a lot of people just buying the very basic (insert cheapest) foods they can just to get by right now.
It is very frustrating when you can't even afford to feed your family..... In America!
