Trevor, Although I live in the 3rd or 4th largest city it still has a bit of the old West persona. I don't know the actual statistics but of those I know and my group of friends at the minimum 1/2 have a pistol to protect their homes and family. It is legal and not uncommon to carry a handgun as long as it is in open sight. To carry out of plain sight or concealed does require a background check, training and a license. The bad guys out number the good guys carrying and play by no rules at all. Had I caught one the cops would not care what his condition but if alive I would fear their public defender to a point. No jury likes a thief but our laws are twisted to protect crooks way too much. I would never choose a judge over my neighbors to decide my fate.

Rick L. I do not feel need to lean on anybody as I was treated fair and told the truth. I did not like the AM knock on my door but I could have been in possession of a stolen truck bolted to the stolen plate. I am just glad I did not send my dog to his death after the cop in my backyard. Before I found out they were cops the dog would have taken anything in his yard and is so darn fast neither would have time to reconsider.

The cops are working whatever leads come there way but do not have manpower to chase petty theft over drugs and murder. My home, Biz. etc.. have security devises but this was just stuff parked in my back yard, they did not enter buildings. My back yard is a little over an acre inside a 6 foot wall/fence.
