All 289 and 427 cars were stamped on the driver's side front shock mount. In addition, later cars had the brass plate shown below put over the actual chassis stamping.

Early 427 cars also had the chassis number molded into the body as shown below.

The chassis number is also stamped into the side of the right chassis rail above the rear suspension.
