Genesis blocks have old serial numbers and a '65 casting date. BUT, before you make up your mind, you should get some input from fellow Cobra owners in your home state as to what you should expect regarding emissions. In my state, the DEQ passed specific regs dealing with kit cars (Cobras) and specifically dealing with the date of the engine issue. Their inspectors can tell a Genesis from the real thing.
Your state may be different though (and probably is). Check with your fellow owners
before you make a final decision.
