Default Dec 30 Cruise to Pilot Point

A quintet of North Dallas area snakes slithered out into the sun yesterday for some fine two lane blacktop cruising. Fine BBQ luncheon at Rudy's. Then we did about 100 mi up through Collin and Denton County, with an apogee at Sanderson Customs and Conversions new facility in Pilot Point. We were hosted by Steve Sanderson and David Holloway and given an extensive tour of their facility. Maybe 20 cars were actually in various stages of build or restoration. We saw: a CSX continuation in their lobby, I think it was #3450, somebody remember for me. Also an original CSX #3XXX car body on the way to a minor restoration. Numerous vintage and new Mustangs and Shelbys, Cougars, Mopars, Chebbies, GTO's, my, my, my ...

Sanderson is a major shop and they are running a huge amount of product right now, with plans for another 20Ksf building in work. Steve spoke of a plan for a three day event sometime in 2009 that would involve kind of a mini-Tulsa agenda. He plans to coordinate a track day at Eagle's Canyon, with a day of road course, a day of drags and a day of car show at his facility in Pilot Point. Would we be interested, he asked? Hell yeah!

Thanks to Larry Reyburn for thinking of this and planning the itenerary and leading!

I was in a fog and forgot my camera in my pocket and did not get as many photos at Sanderson's as I wish I had, but here's some ...
