For the record, as a current MAACO owner, I cannot paint a Cobra for $1,000, not even if the owner does all of the prep and brings me a "ready for paint" empty shell. Fiberglass has it's own unique issues that no other car does, it takes special prep, special primer/sealers, and a special touch to lay down a quality job on a fiberglass body (any fiberglass body).........Case in point, a 1980 Corvette in my shop for a complete color change, it got shot at 12 noon today, it will air dry in my booth until 12 noon on Saturday before it's pulled out into the shop again....Overkill, not for those who know what it takes to do a quality job on a car like that one.

PS: Last quote I did for a Cobra was $4,500 and that was for a base clear with no stripes....Will another MAACO shop quote less, perhaps, but in the end you get what you pay for..............
