Default Someone Tell Why???

We have at least three choices of pressure plates:

Long Style
Borg & Beck Style
Diaphram Style

I was wondering if the Long & B&B Styles was the strongest and required more foot pressure but the diaphram style required less pressure to release the clutch?

Also, are there certain style transmissions that require a unique PP Type?

Thanks,

Clois
