There is a CRII forum here on CC. Posting there might help. I can draw up prints for the trunk and hood prop rods for you. You would just need to get them built. .
If you pull the intake it should say in the valley area what the motor is. There might be other ways but I am not exactly sure of them. Others can chime in on that.
For the mirror, if you pull it off it might say underneath the manufacture but check out Finishline. They might have it or buy both from them. Finishline is a sponser here on CC.
As far as information on CR'S, On the CRII forum here on CC the resident GURU is DV. He can answer most if not all of your questions.

Mine is a late 80's-early 90's also.
