Tru,
That is good news that some of the managers want to keep you. I hope they prevail.
As for the trains there was a man that worked for the phone company out here way back up in the mountains near Portola and people kept calling me and telling me what a master machinist he was. One day when I was up that way working on a problem I saw him and we got to talking. When he learned that I liked model trains he said he had one he would like to show me and he had made everything for it including the track, I have never before or since seen such a work of art. The 2-8-4 was exactly to scale and it ran on steam. He had built a small water tower and in the firebox someway he had fixed it so the fire was the propane lighter fluid. They tracks were real looking as they had much flatter tops on the rails than the ones that I had. His old time coach cars had the toilets with the water tank high up for gravity fed and they would actually flush and go out on the ground just like the real ones did. And He had built every piece of that train himself. I never saw him again but I will never forget that workmanship and the talent it took to do what he had done.
